Time Left

The Sky is falling

Ya know the sky is falling when all the places you've ever bought lace and trims are either out of business or don't carry that sort of thing anymore. *ARG*

I'm not relishing the idea of doing it all by hand. God bless online shopping!

Houppelande and Other Dresses

Take a look at these Becky. This is the style that I was talking about There is a version (see black and white drawing) that has that turned out collar that you said earlier you liked. Also, this style can be made as a comfy dress with decorative belt OR as a simple dress with elaborate over dress (so you could have color or not so much bulk in the Temple or both *laugh*) I was leaning towards white, green and lavender to match your colors.

Kari's Cakes

I mentioned a few posts ago that I had found someone in Spanish Fork who could make Becky's gluten free cake. Here are a few of her designs, but she is game for whatever Becky wants.

This is a chocolate and vanilla cake, but it could be lovely in other colors.

This is all fondant, even the ribbons:)

I LOVE this one

The design on this one is beautiful

This is lovely as well.

A lot like mine actually.

Ok, the colors are very, um, yeah, but the design is great.
Like I said, Kari is good at making the cake
the way the bride and groom want it.

Let Them Eat . . .

I have haply found a lady here in town that makes gluten free wedding cakes! She is the only person in the state of Utah that is listed as a certified celiac cake maker (didn't even know they existed, hmmm), and she lives in Spanish Fork. I have been searching for a few weeks, so Becky could actually eat her own wedding cake, and finally had a stroke of , "well duh, Stace," today while blowing time waiting for Doug to finish up his classes for the day. I found Kari in about 10 seconds. She is willing to do whatever Becky wants, so I am placing some ideas up for her to see and everyone to comment on.

The best part about finding this lady are the gluten free flavor choices: Strawberry Swirl, Classic Raspberry White Cake, Raspberry/Strawberry Lemonade, Chocolate Decadence, Carrot with cream cheese swirl, Spice with cream cheese swirl, Lemon Poppy Seed, Chocolate Cream, Chocolate Berries, Red Velvet with cream cheese, Vanilla Marble, and Almond Poppyseed. I am so excited. All her customers say that you can't tell it is gluten free; it is so yummy. So pick your dream cake Bec.

Most of these are pics I gathered before I knew about Kari, but I have seen her portfolio, and she is very gifted. I think all of these would be in her realm of plausible designs. So here we go.

Purple on White:

I really liked the simple elegance of this one.

And the classical feel of this one.

A bit of floral

Some whimsy

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because I believe that wedding cakes DO NOT have to be white ... now for something completely different
Purple Kissed Chocolate
Lavender Blush
Divine Intwined
Purple Perfection
So Bec, I hope this gives you some ideas. Let me know what tickles your fancy.
Purple and Pansies (Floral Ideas)
Becky informed me that her wedding colors are light and dark purple with dark green accents. She is trying to figure out what flowers to get for her bouquet. Obviously some of the following are not what she would want, but I figure giving her as many options as possible would be nice ... so here is a parade of purple.
I like the Freesia in this one
This is a simple silk arrangement
Basic White with Lavender Accents
Very Unique
I love this one ... very elegant
Um, this was made in New Zealand ... but wow.
I like this one too, but it might be even better with white roses
and dark purple callas.
I love the calla lilies in this one.
